While Wendy's usual menu items aren't what comes to mind when you think "healthy," you would hope that a salad of grilled chicken, apples, and pecans wouldn't be too unhealthy, right? According to Fast Food Nutrition, the Apple Pecan Salad has 520 calories, 23 grams of total fat, 110 milligrams of cholesterol, and 1,025 milligrams of sodium. The salad has a higher caloric content than the Bacon Double Stack, which clocks in at 480 calories.

Eat This, Not That's review also criticized the Apple Pecan Salad for the unhealthy amount of fat and sugar in a full serving. Their gripe lies with the sweet pomegranate dressing, the sugary dried cranberries, and the blue cheese crumbles, which alone add 120 calories to the already hefty salad. They recommend you ask for some of the toppings to be withheld or, if you want to go all-in for health, to opt for a healthier salad. It's not the unhealthiest item on the menu, and if you're hungry for a light lunch, then the Apple Pecan Salad wouldn't be too bad of a choice.

Ahhh, Wendys chicken. In my humble opinion, the best chicken sandwiches in the fast-food game. The spicy chicken has long been one of my favorite options out there, and the Crispy Chicken BLT has become a recent favorite of mine.

Similar to the burgers, the nutrition here is mostly dependent on the cheese and condiments. While we dont know the exact number, I estimate that leaving the mayo off of a sandwich will save about 100 calories.

When I order the spicy chicken sandwich without mayo, I estimate that the sandwich comes in at just about 400 calories.

The major difference with the chicken sandwiches is that you can go with grilled chicken or fried chicken, which will change the nutrition quite a bit.

For example, the Asiago Ranch Chicken Club will have 140 fewer calories than the crispy chicken or spicy chicken versions, along with 10g less fat and 4g more protein.

If we compare the basic Crispy Chicken Sandwich with the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, they actually have virtually the same exact calories. However, the grilled chicken sandwich has 33g of protein and only 8g of fat, whereas the Crispy Chicken has 17g of fat and only 14g of protein. If maximum protein is the goal, you will definitely want to stick with a grilled chicken sandwich.

That's 560 calories all told, which is not bad at all. In fact, in other words, it's a perfect light lunch.
